Selection Process

The selection for the Trade Apprentice posts will be conducted in three stages:

Stage 1 – Online Examination

Eligible candidates under Groups A, B, and C will be invited to appear for a Computer-Based Test (CBT).

  • The examination will consist of 100 multiple-choice questions based on the minimum required qualifications for each group.
  • For COPA trade: 75 questions will be from Trade Theory and 25 from English & General Knowledge.
  • Duration of the exam: 2 hours.
  • Candidates can select two preferred examination centres from the following list: Mumbai, Thane, Pune, Aurangabad (Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar), Nagpur, Latur, Kolhapur, and Nashik.
  • Final allocation of examination centres is at the discretion of MDL.

Stage 2 – Document Verification and Trade Allotment

  • Based on the marks obtained in the CBT, shortlisted candidates (category and group-wise) will be invited for document verification and trade allocation.

Stage 3 – Medical Examination

  • Selected candidates must be declared medically fit in accordance with the standards of the Apprenticeship Rules, 1992.
  • In cases where specialist medical tests (e.g., X-ray, blood tests) are needed, the cost will be borne by the candidate.

Note: Any misconduct or unruly behaviour during any stage of the selection process will result in disqualification.
