RRC SWR Apprentice Selection Process

The selection process for Act Apprentices at RRC SWR is straightforward and merit-based:

Stage 1: Merit List Preparation

Engagement will be based on a merit list prepared from the marks obtained in Matriculation (10th class) and ITI. The merit list will be calculated as a simple average of the percentage of marks in Matriculation (minimum 50% aggregate) and ITI marks in the relevant trade.

Tie-breaking Rule:

  • If two candidates have the same marks, the older candidate will be preferred.
  • If dates of birth are also the same, the candidate who passed the matriculation exam earlier will be considered first.

Stage 2: Document Verification

Candidates shortlisted based on the merit list will be called for document verification. It is crucial to produce all original documents (educational certificates, caste certificates, disability certificates, etc.) as uploaded during the online application. Any discrepancy will lead to cancellation of candidature.

Stage 3: Medical Examination

Finally, candidates found eligible after document verification will undergo a medical examination. They must be found fit as per the prescribed medical standards for apprentices under the Apprentices Act, 1961. A medical certificate signed by a Government authorized doctor (Gazetted) not below the rank of Assistant Surgeon of a Central/State Hospital is required at the time of document verification.
