The Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Limited (ONGC) invites applications from eligible candidates for engagement as Apprentices under The Apprentices Act, 1961 across 25+ work centres (Northern, Mumbai, Western, Eastern, Southern, Central sectors). Who Can Apply — Eligibility Summary

Age Limit

Minimum: 18 years. Maximum: 24 years as on 06.11.2025 (DOB between 06.11.2001 and 06.11.2007). Age relaxations as per Govt. rules: OBC +3 yrs, SC/ST +5 yrs, PwBD up to +10/13/15 as applicable.

Qualification (varies by trade)

Trade apprentices (ITI/10th/12th) — ITI or 10th/12th as specified.
Diploma apprentices — 3-year diploma in relevant discipline.
Graduate apprentices — B.Sc/B.Com/BBA/B.E./B.Tech etc. as per trade requirement.
Refer to the official annexure for post-wise qualification & eligible districts (domicile requirement).

Training Duration

All trades: 12 months apprenticeship period.

Reservation

Reservation for SC/ST/OBC/PwBD will be applied as per Government of India rules.

Stipend (Monthly)

Graduate Apprentice

₹12,300 / month

Diploma Apprentice

₹10,900 / month

Trade (ITI / 1-2 year)

ITI 1-year: ₹9,600 / month; ITI 2-year: ₹10,560 / month; 10th/12th trades: ₹8,200 / month.

Selection Process

Selection is merit-based — drawn from marks obtained in the qualifying examination stipulated for each trade. In case of tie in merit, the older candidate will be given preference. No separate written test or interview is specified for most trades (refer to the official notification for any trade-specific selection).

Step-by-step application guide

Confirm you meet the eligibility (qualification, domicile district, age) per Annexure-1 of the advertisement.
For trades listed at Sl. No. 1–29 (NAPS trades) register/apply at apprenticeshipindia.gov.in (Skill India portal).
For trades at Sl. No. 30–39 (NATS trades) register/apply at nats.education.gov.in starting 17.10.2025.
Complete registration, fill the application, choose work centre & trade, and submit required documents as per portal instructions.
Paper applications will NOT be accepted. Keep a copy of submitted application and registration details for future communication.

Identity & Address Proof

Aadhaar / Passport / Voter ID / Driving License (as applicable)

Educational & Trade Certificates

Mark sheets, degree/diploma/ITI certificate, proof of date of result/publication where applicable (see clause IV).

Category / PwBD Certificates

SC/ST/OBC (NCL)/PwBD certificates in prescribed format if claiming reservation.

Important Notes & Instructions

Apply only if you satisfy all essential qualification criteria and domicile/ district eligibility for the chosen work centre (see Annexure-1).
Candidates who have already undergone apprenticeship earlier or have ≥1 year of post-qualification experience (for technician apprentices) are generally ineligible.
Applications incomplete or not meeting eligibility will be rejected; no correspondence will be entertained.
Selected candidates are subject to medical fitness and document verification. ONGC does not guarantee regular employment after apprenticeship.
