Eligibility Criteria (as on August 11, 2025)
Age Limit:
- ITI Candidates: Should have completed 15 years of age and should not have completed 24 years of age.
- Non-ITI Candidates (Freshers): Should have completed 15 years of age and should not have completed 22 years of age.
- Upper Age Relaxation:
- SC/ST candidates: 5 years
- OBC candidates: 3 years
- Persons with Disability (PwBD): 10 years

Note: Candidates with higher qualifications (Degree/Diploma/Engineering Degree/Course Completed Act Apprentices) are generally NOT eligible to apply for Act Apprenticeship, except for MLT where 12th/HSC is the qualification.
Other Eligibility Conditions:
- Candidates must be physically fit as per Apprentices Act, 1961 rules.
- Preference will be given to candidates from Tamil Nadu. Applicants resident and/or registered with a local Employment Exchange within Tamil Nadu are eligible.
- Wards of Railway employees are also eligible to apply.

Fee must be paid through online mode. No refund will be entertained once remitted.
ICF Apprentice Selection Process
The selection of Act Apprentices will be based on the **merit list prepared on the basis of marks obtained in Std X**.
- Merit List Calculation: Marks obtained in Std X will be the primary criteria. For COVID Pass candidates in X std., proof of IX std mark sheet/X std Half yearly mark sheet duly signed by Principal of the institution will be considered.
- Tie-breaking Rule: In case of equal marks, the older candidate will be preferred. If dates of birth are also same, the candidate who passed Std X earlier will be considered first.
- Trade Allotment: Freshers can opt for trades. Allotment will be based on merit and vacancy. No change of trade will be entertained once allotted.
- Document Verification: Selected candidates will be called for document verification. Original certificates (including Transfer Certificate, Caste/OBC NCL/PwBD certificate) and a Medical Certificate signed by a Government authorized doctor are required.
- Apprenticeship Contract: Selected candidates must execute an apprenticeship contract.

How to Apply Online for ICF Apprentice Recruitment 2025-26
- Visit the ICF web portal for apprenticeship recruitment: pb.icf.gov.in/act2025/index.php.
- Read the official notification (APP/01/2025-2026) thoroughly before applying.
- Fill in the online application form correctly. Keep all relevant documents/certificates and a recent passport size photograph (JPG/JPEG format, not more than 200 KB) ready for upload.
- The system will generate a unique registration number, which will be your individual Registration ID. Your date of birth (in "ddmmyyyy" format) will be the password to generate the acknowledgement.
- Pay the processing fee of ₹100/- (if applicable, SC/ST/PwBD/Women candidates are exempted) through online mode. Preserve the unique Transaction ID.
- Check all details filled in the online application before clicking the submit button.
- After final submission, generate and take a printout of the acknowledgement form from the system. This printout is required at the time of Document Verification.
- Candidates are NOT required to send any documents to ICF by post/email/fax/by hand.
All communications from ICF will be sent via SMS or email to the registered mobile number/email ID. Candidates should keep them active until the selection process is complete.
