The Indian Air Force invites online applications from unmarried Indian male and female candidates for the Selection Test for **Agniveervayu Intake 02/2026** under the Agnipath Scheme. This scheme aims to provide an opportunity for the nation's youth to experience military life for a period of four years.

Agniveervayu Eligibility Criteria

Age Limit:

Candidates born between **July 31, 2005, and January 31, 2009 (both dates inclusive)** are eligible to apply. If a candidate clears all stages of the selection process, then the upper age limit as on date of enrolment is 21 years.

Educational Qualification:

  • For Science Subjects:

    Candidates should have passed Intermediate/10+2/Equivalent examination with Mathematics, Physics and English from an Education Board recognized by Central, State & UT with minimum 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English.

    OR

    Passed Three years Diploma Course in Engineering (Mechanical / Electrical / Electronics / Automobile / Computer Science / Instrumentation Technology / Information Technology) from a Government recognized Polytechnic Institute with 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English in Diploma Course (or in Intermediate/Matriculation, if English is not a subject in Diploma Course).

    OR

    Passed Two years Vocational Course with non-science subjects viz. English, Physics and Mathematics from Education Boards recognized by Central, State & UT with 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English in Vocational Course (or in Intermediate/Matriculation, if English is not a subject in Vocational Course).

  • For Other Than Science Subjects:

    Candidates should have passed Intermediate/10+2/Equivalent examination in any stream/subjects from an Education Board recognized by Central, State & UT with minimum 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English.

    OR

    Passed Two years Vocational Course from Education Boards recognized by Central, State & UT with minimum 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English in Vocational Course (or in Intermediate/Matriculation if English is not a subject in Vocational Course).

Note: Only online applications will be accepted. The data entered during registration will be final and no changes will be permitted later. Entry of wrong data will disqualify candidature.

Medical Standards:

  • Height: Minimum acceptable height is 152.5 cms for male candidates and 152 cms for female candidates.
  • Chest (Male Candidates): The chest wall should be well proportioned and well developed. Minimum chest circumference should be 77 cms and the chest expansion should be at least 05 cms.
  • Weight: Proportionate to height and age.
  • Hearing: Should have normal hearing i.e. able to hear forced whisper from 6 meters with each ear separately.
  • Dental: Should have healthy gums, good set of teeth and minimum 14 dental points.
  • Visual Standards: As per official notification.
  • Candidates must be in good physical and mental health and free from any disease/disability likely to interfere with the efficient performance of duties.

Application Fee

  • Examination Fee: ₹250/-
  • Payment Mode: Online through Debit Cards/ Credit Cards/ Internet Banking through payment gateway.

Agniveervayu Selection Process

The selection process for Agniveervayu Intake 02/2026 consists of the following phases:

  1. Phase 1: Online Written Test
    • Objective type questions.
    • For Science Subjects: English, Physics, and Mathematics (60 minutes).
    • For Other Than Science Subjects: English, Reasoning & General Awareness (45 minutes).
    • For both Science and Other Than Science Subjects: English, Physics, Mathematics, Reasoning & General Awareness (85 minutes).
    • Negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer.
  2. Phase 2: Physical Fitness Test (PFT) & Adaptability Test
    • PFT includes: 1.6 Km run (6 minutes 30 seconds for male, 8 minutes for female), 10 push-ups (male), 10 sit-ups (male & female), 20 squats (male & female).
    • Adaptability Test-I (for all candidates who pass PFT): Assesses suitability for Indian Air Force environment.
    • Adaptability Test-II (for all candidates who pass Adaptability Test-I): Assesses suitability for employment in IAF and ability to adapt to military way of life.
  3. Phase 3: Medical Examination
    • Conducted at Air Force Medical Establishments.
    • Candidates must meet prescribed medical standards.

Agniveervayu Pay, Allowances & Benefits

Agniveervayu will be paid a customized monthly package along with various benefits as part of the Agnipath Scheme:

  • Seva Nidhi Package: Upon completion of the four-year engagement period, Agniveervayu will be paid a 'Seva Nidhi' package of approximately ₹10.04 Lakhs (tax exempt), comprising their contribution and a matching contribution from the Government.
  • Death/Disability Compensation: Non-contributory Life Insurance cover of ₹48 Lakhs. Additional ex-gratia for death/disability.
  • Leave: Annual Leave of 30 days per year. Sick leave based on medical advice.
  • Other Benefits: Risk & Hardship Allowance, Dress Allowance, and Ration Allowance as applicable.
