PSSSB Group B 2025 Eligibility Criteria
Age Limit (as on 01 January 2025):
- Minimum Age: 18 years
- Maximum Age: 37 years (for General Category candidates)
- Age Relaxation:
- Scheduled Castes and Backward Classes (Punjab Domicile): Up to 42 years.
- State and Central Government Employees: Up to 45 years.
- Persons with Disabilities (Punjab Domicile): 10 years relaxation (up to 47 years).
- Widows, Divorced women, and certain other categories of married women (Punjab Domicile): Up to 40 years.
- Ex-servicemen (Punjab Domicile): As per Punjab Recruitment of Ex-Servicemen Rules, 1982 (service period deducted, remaining age not exceeding upper limit by more than 3 years).
Educational Qualification (as on Last Date of Online Application):
- Senior Assistant: Bachelor's Degree from a recognized University/Institution AND at least 120 hours computer course (Office Productivity/Desktop Publishing) from a Govt. recognized/ISO 9001 certified institution OR 'O' level certificate (DOEACC). Must qualify English and Punjabi typewriting test on computer.
- Junior Auditor (Local Fund Accounts): B.Com (1st Division) or M.Com (2nd Division) from a recognized University/Institution.
- Junior Auditor (Treasury & Accounts): B.Com (1st Division) or M.Com (2nd Division) from a recognized University/Institution AND English typewriting speed of 30 words per minute.
- District Treasurer: Graduate from a recognized University.
- Treasury Officer: Graduate from a recognized University; preference to Commerce Graduates.
- Sub-Divisional Officer (Civil): Graduate in Civil Engineering (1st or 2nd Class) or AMIE (Civil Engineering) with 2 years experience as SDO or 5 years as Section Officer in Central/State Govt. or Govt. Institution; OR Diploma in Civil Engineering with 7 years experience as Section Officer in Central/State Govt. or Govt. Institution.
- Section Officer (Civil): Diploma in Civil Engineering or a higher qualification in the same discipline from a recognized University/Institution.
- Section Officer (Electrical): Diploma in Electrical Engineering or a higher qualification in the same discipline from a recognized University/Institution.
- Mandatory Punjabi Language Knowledge for All Posts: Must have passed Matriculation examination with Punjabi as one of the compulsory or elective subjects or any other equivalent examination in Punjabi language as specified by the Government from time to time.
Experience Requirements:
- Experience requirements vary significantly by post. For positions like Senior Assistant, Junior Auditor, District Treasurer, and Treasury Officer, prior professional experience is generally **not mandatory** beyond the specified educational qualifications and computer/typing proficiency.
- However, for the **Sub-Divisional Officer (Civil)** post, relevant work experience is a **mandatory criterion**. Candidates must possess a minimum of two years of experience as an SDO or five years as a Section Officer (for Degree holders) or seven years as a Section Officer (for Diploma holders) in a Central Government, State Government, or Government Institution.

PSSSB Group B Selection Process

A merit list will be prepared based on the marks obtained in the Written Examination. In case of a tie in marks between two or more candidates, the following tie-breaking rules will be applied in sequence:
- Candidate with higher age will be preferred.
- If age is also the same, the candidate with a higher percentage of marks in the essential educational qualification for the post will be preferred.
- If marks in the essential qualification are also the same, the candidate with higher marks in Matriculation will be preferred.
The decision of the PSSSB in tie-breaking matters will be final.
Candidates will be called for document verification and counseling based on their merit in the written examination. The number of candidates called for counseling will be decided by the Board. Final recommendation for appointment will be made only after successful verification of all documents and fulfillment of all eligibility conditions.
Important Guidelines for Applicants:
- Candidates must apply online only through the official PSSSB website. Applications received through any other mode will be rejected.
- Ensure you accurately fill in your category and category code. Changes to category will not be permitted at any stage.
- Reservation benefits are applicable only to **permanent residents of Punjab**. Candidates claiming reservation must possess a valid, recently issued Domicile/Residence Certificate (not older than 5 years at the time of counseling).
- Educational and technical qualification certificates must be issued **before the last date of online application**.

First, complete the new registration process by providing your personal and educational details. Upon successful registration, a unique Username will be generated. Use this Username to log in and proceed with filling out the detailed application form.
