Punjab PTI Teacher Selection Process
The selection process for the Punjab PTI Teacher positions is comprehensive, designed to evaluate candidates on various parameters:
A State-level departmental written test will be conducted for 70 marks. This will be an Objective Multiple Choice test. The syllabus and other details not specified in the rules will be decided by the recruiting agency. There will be **no negative marking** in this test.
A maximum of 30 marks will be awarded for sports achievements, based on gradation as notified by the Government of Punjab, Department of Sports and Youth Services. The weightage is as follows:
- Grade A: 30 Marks
- Grade B: 25 Marks
- Grade C: 10 Marks
- Grade D: 5 Marks
Note: This sports achievement weightage does not apply to candidates applying under the sports quota; for them, the Punjab Sportsmen Recruitment Rules, 1988, apply. Only one gradation certificate can be claimed for weightage.
This is a mandatory qualifying test. It will comprise five components, and a candidate must successfully complete at least three out of these five to qualify. The criteria are:
| Component | Male Criteria | Female Criteria |
|---|---|---|
| 30 meter Flying Start (for speed) | 5 seconds | 5.80 seconds |
| Standing broad jump (for explosive strength) | 1.40 meter | 1.20 meter |
| Shuttle run 6X10 meter (for agility) | 17.50 seconds | 18.50 seconds |
| Bend and reach (for flexibility) | 2 cm | 2 cm |
| 1600 meter running | 8 minutes | 9 minutes 30 seconds |
Note: Persons with Disabilities (Divyang candidates) are exempted from the physical test.
All candidates must pass a Punjabi language written test of Matriculation standard with at least 50% marks. This test is mandatory and qualifying in nature; its marks will **not** be added to the final merit list. Failure to secure 50% marks will lead to disqualification.
A combined merit list will be prepared based on the marks from the Written Test (70 marks) and Sports Achievements (30 marks), totaling 100 marks. In case of a tie in merit marks, the candidate with higher age will be preferred. If both marks and age are the same, the candidate with a higher percentage in their professional qualification will be ranked higher. Final selection is subject to document verification.
Important Guidelines for Applicants:
- Candidates can apply for **only one category** and must make only one registration. Multiple registrations will lead to cancellation of subsequent applications.
- Reservation benefits are applicable only to **permanent residents of Punjab**.
- The category chosen and paid for during application will be considered final, and no changes will be allowed later.
- It is mandatory to pass the Punjabi language test at Matriculation level with at least 50% marks.
