Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
What is the difference in selection for Graduate and Undergraduate posts?
Both levels require clearing **CBT 1 and CBT 2**. However, the **difficulty level of CBT 2** will be higher for Graduate posts. The minimum qualifying marks and the skill tests (CBAT or TST) required also vary based on the specific post applied for, irrespective of the level.
Is there any refund of the application fee and how do I get it?
Yes, a portion of the fee is refundable. Candidates must **appear in the 1st Stage CBT (CBT 1)** to be eligible for the refund. The refund is processed to the original payment source after the CBT 1 exam is conducted and results are processed. Ensure your bank details are correct in the application.
Are there separate exams for different railway zones?
No, the RRB NTPC exam is a **single centralized exam** conducted for all regional Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs). Candidates apply to one RRB, and the exams (CBT 1 & CBT 2) are common. Final selection and posting are based on the merit of CBT 2 (and skill test) and the RRB/post preference filled by the candidate.
