Eligibility Criteria

Age Limit (as on February 01, 2024):

  • Assistant Director (Group-A): 21-45 years.
  • Senior Scientific Officer (Group-B): 20-45 years.
  • Age Relaxation:
    • Schedules Castes of Haryana: 5 years
    • Backward Classes of Haryana: 5 years
    • Disabled persons (PwBD): 5 years (+5 years if PwBD belongs to SC/ST/B/EWS, subject to maximum 52 years).
    • Wife of military personnel disabled in service: 5 years
    • Widowed or legally divorced woman: 5 years
    • Judicially separated woman (residing separately for >2 years): 5 years
    • Unmarried woman: 5 years
    • Ex-serviceman: Relaxation to the extent of military service added by three years.
    • Persons working on ad hoc/contract/work-charged/daily wages basis in Haryana Govt./Board/Corporation/Govt-aided Institutions: Relaxation equal to completed years on equivalent post, subject to maximum age of 52 years.
  • Important: Age will be calculated as on February 01, 2024, as per the notification.

Educational Qualification & Experience:

Each post has specific educational and experience requirements. Candidates must possess the qualifications mentioned below (or equivalent) and relevant experience as specified:

  • Assistant Director (DNA): M.Sc (1st Division) or Ph.D in Zoology/Physical Anthropology/Genetics/Bio-Chemistry/Bio-Technology/Microbiology/Molecular Biology/Forensic Science (with Zoology/Botany at B.Sc level). 8 years analytical/research experience in DNA Finger Printing.
  • Assistant Director (Lie-Detection): Post Graduate degree (at least 2nd class) in Psychology or equivalent. 8 years research and analytical experience in applied Psychology.
  • Assistant Director (Cyber Forensic): M.Sc Computer Science/MCA (1st Division) or B.E. (Computer Science) (1st Division). 8 years experience in Cyber Forensic.
  • Assistant Director (Toxicology): M.Sc (1st Division) or Ph.D in Chemistry/Bio-Chemistry/Toxicology/Forensic Science (with Forensic Chemistry and Toxicology subjects). 8 years research and analytical experience in Forensic Toxicology.
  • Senior Scientific Officer (Cyber Forensic): M.Sc Computer Science/MCA (1st Division) or B.E. (Computer Science) (1st Division). 3 years experience in Cyber Forensic.
  • Senior Scientific Officer (Scene of Crime): M.Sc (at least 2nd Division) in Zoology/Botany/Chemistry/Physical Anthropology/Human Biology/Human Genetics/Bio-Technology/Molecular Biology/Microbiology/Physics/Mathematics/Statistics/Forensic Science. 3 years research and analytical experience.
  • Senior Scientific Officer (Documents): M.Sc (at least 2nd Division) in Physics/Mathematics/Statistics/Chemistry/Forensic Science. 3 years research and analytical experience.
  • Senior Scientific Officer (Physics): M.Sc (at least 2nd Division) in Physics/Forensic Science. 3 years research and analytical experience.
  • Senior Scientific Officer (Toxicology): M.Sc (at least 1st Division) in Chemistry/Bio-Chemistry/Toxicology/Forensic Science. 3 years research/analytical experience in Forensic Toxicology.

HPSC Selection Process

The selection process for Assistant Director and Senior Scientific Officer posts by HPSC involves the following stages:

Step 1: Shortlisting Criteria

Step 3: Document Verification

Admission to the recruitment process is purely provisional, subject to satisfying the prescribed eligibility conditions and successful document verification. Candidates must bring hard copies of their signed application form and all uploaded documents when called upon by the Commission.

  • The Commission reserves the right to check eligibility at any stage.
