Vacancies are available across the following faculty levels and departments:
- Professor: Pay Level-14 of 7th CPC (CSE, ECE)
- Associate Professor: Pay Level-13 of 7th CPC (CSE, ECE, Mathematics & Data Science)
- Assistant Professor Grade I: Pay Level-12 of 7th CPC (CSE, ECE, Mathematics & Data Science)
- Assistant Professor Grade II: Pay Level-11 of 7th CPC (CSE, ECE, Mathematics & Data Science)
- Assistant Professor Grade III: Pay Level-10 of 7th CPC (CSE, ECE, Mathematics & Data Science, English)

Eligibility Criteria (as on August 07, 2025)
Educational Qualification:
- Essential: Ph.D. in the relevant discipline. Candidates must have a First Class in preceding degrees (Graduation onwards).
- If First Class is not mentioned by the University/Institution, candidates must have secured at least 6.5 CGPA/CPI (on a 10-point scale) or 60% marks in aggregate.
- At least one degree from graduation onward must be from IISC/IITS/IIITS/NITS/IIMS/ISI/IISERS/TIFR/IMSC/CMI (for CSE, ECE, Mathematics & Data Science). OR should be working in a regular pay scale at these institutes.
- Foreign degrees are considered if offered by a National University/Institute of the respective country or by institutions ranked up to 500 in QS/THE World Ranking (last two years).
Relevant Experience (Post-Ph.D.):
- Assistant Professor Grade III (Level 10): None required.
- Assistant Professor Grade II (Level 11): 1 year after Ph.D.
- Assistant Professor Grade I (Level 12): 3 years after Ph.D. OR 6 years total (not counting Ph.D. enrolment period) after M.Tech./M.E./M.Des.
- Associate Professor (Level 13A2): 6 years after Ph.D. OR 9 years total (not counting Ph.D. enrolment period) out of which 3 years should be after Ph.D.
- Professor (Level 14A): 10 years after Ph.D. OR 13 years total (not counting Ph.D. enrolment period) out of which 7 years are to be after Ph.D. At least four years must be at Associate Professor level (Level 13A2).
- Note: Specific publication, Ph.D. supervision, sponsored project, and academic outreach requirements apply for higher-level posts. Experience on part-time, daily wages, visiting/guest faculty, or purely contract basis will NOT be counted.
Age Limit (as on August 07, 2025):
- Assistant Professor Grade I, II, III: Maximum 45 Years
- Associate Professor: Maximum 50 Years
- Professor: Maximum 55 Years
- Age Relaxation: 5 years for SC/ST/PwBD and women candidates. Age may be relaxed for exceptional candidates at the discretion of the scrutiny committee with Director's approval.
Other Essential Requirements:
- Only Indian Nationals, Persons of Indian Origin (PIO), and Overseas Citizens of India (OCI) are eligible.
- Reservation norms for PwBD, OBC-NCL, SC, ST, and EWS are applicable as per Govt. of India norms. Valid category certificates issued on or after April 1, 2025, for OBC-NCL and EWS are mandatory.
- Candidates employed in Government/Semi-Government Organizations must submit NOC at the time of interview.
- Candidates should not have been convicted by any court of law.
- Plural marriage is not permitted.

IIIT Sri City Faculty Selection Process
The selection process consists of two or three phases, depending on the Pay Level:
A written test will be conducted for candidates applying for Assistant Professor Grade III (Pay Level 10) and Assistant Professor Grade II (Pay Level 11). Shortlisted candidates from this test will then be invited for the Seminar Presentation.
Candidates for Pay Levels 12 and above will be directly invited for a Seminar Presentation. For Pay Levels 10 & 11, only those shortlisted from the written test will proceed to this stage. Only candidates recommended in the Seminar Presentation will be eligible to attend the interview.
The final stage for all eligible candidates (recommended from Seminar Presentation) will be the interview. The Board of Governors (BoG) will make final recruitment and pay-fixation decisions based on the recommendations of the Selection Committees.
- The Institute reserves the right to screen and call only suitable candidates meeting specific research area requirements. Fulfilling minimum conditions does not guarantee a call for presentation/interview.
- No TA/DA will be paid to candidates for appearing in the recruitment process.
- Any updates on shortlisted candidates, recruitment schedule, etc., will be notified only on the Institute website and via email.
- Selected candidates will be on probation for two years, and no NOC will be given during this period.
